SEVEN PROPHETIC WONDERS
By Frank Eiklor and Cecilia Contreras
LESSON 29
Introduction: God is a daring God. He can afford to be—because He is all, knows all and can do all. One of the greatest proofs of His existence and sovereign control over this world is God’s choice of the Jewish people. He prophesied their purpose, persecution and preservation—and has backed up His incredible guarantee over the past 4000 years.
Following are seven “wonders of the world” that only the all-powerful God could ever bring to pass. Look up the scriptures. They are marvelous in their past accuracy and future prophecy.
THE WONDER OF:
1. GOD’S CHOOSING THE JEWS
Genesis 12:3, Deuteronomy 7:7,8, Isaiah 49:14-16
2. BLESSINGS AND CURSINGS CONCERNING THE JEWS
Genesis 12:3, Numbers 24:9, Zechariah 12:2,3, 8,9
3. GOD’S GUARANTEE THE JEWS WILL BE PRESERVED FROM ALL
ENEMIES
Leviticus 26:44, Jeremiah 30:11, 16,17, Jeremiah 31:35-37, 33:23-26
4. THE SEPARATION OF THE JEWS FROM ALL PEOPLE
Numbers 23:9,10, Ezekiel 20:32,33, 37
5. HOW HATING JEWS IS REALLY HATING GOD
Esther 3:8, Psalms 83:3-5
6. THE RESURRECTION OF ISRAEL
Isaiah 43:5,6, Ezekiel 37:1-14, Amos 9:14-15
7. JESUS THE MESSIAH’S FUTURE REVELATION TO ISRAEL
Zechariah 12:10, Romans 11:15-29
CONCLUSION: Blessing the Jewish people in and out of Israel is more than mere rhetoric. It is offering kindness, compassion and help—especially when Jews suffer attacks from anti-Semites in your own neighborhood and country. You do not have to agree with Israelis or Jews in order to offer them God’s unconditional love. Jesus Christ’s love comes without conditions—as it must through you.
Reach out in friendship to Jewish people (and all people) around you. Let them know that you care. If they show interest in Jesus, tell them the good news of salvation for all. If they show no interest in your witness, don’t abandon them (you don’t do that to family members). Just continue to let God work out an “Eighth Wonder of the World”—His Holy Spirit loving Jews, Arabs, all people—through you!
TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE
1) What is God’s promise—positive and negative—concerning the Jews. (Genesis 12:3 and Numbers 24:9)
2) Even in God’s punishment to the Jews for their rebellion against Him, what is His incredible promise? (Isaiah 49:14-16)
3) What is the challenge God gives to those who would erase Israel from the earth? (Jeremiah 31:35-37)
4) How does Psalm 83:3-5 demonstrate that hating the Jewish people is really hating God?
5) Modern Israel is a miracle of ancient prophecy. What did God promise in Ezekiel 37:11,12?
6) How will Jews recognize Jesus when He reveals Himself to them? (Zechariah 12:10)
7) Why does God warn Christians not to act proud against the Jewish people who do not yet believe that Jesus is Messiah? (Romans 11:15-21)
